Projects
A project is a multi-step task that is typically done once. It is something that can actually be completed–meaning you can “check it off” by the end of the month. (It has a beginning and an end.) Projects are not automatically accomplished with current routines and typically require significant mental effort.
Note: Routines are not projects. If you are establishing a new routine, the process of establishing that routine could become a project. Once established, the task would move to your Routines List.
For Me
A project for you is a multi-step task that will take care of YOU. Maybe you are starting a healthy eating routine, setting up your Command Central, or purchasing new clothes for the season. We recommend 1-3 projects per month in this category so you can feel excited about your life!
For My Family
A project for your family is a multi-step task to improve your home environment or family relationships. This can include things like:
- organizing a room in the house
- resolving a difficult challenge in your marriage
- preparing for a holiday celebration
- taking a parenting class
- planning a vacation
- pursuing a solution for a family members’ health situation
- creating a system for photo albums
We recommend having 1-3 projects each month in the family section of your Current Projects List. This helps create balance in your life.
Beyond
“Beyond” is a category inside our Current Projects for work and volunteer activities–like setting up a new video series or planning an event for the elementary school. You are encouraged to identify 1-3 active projects in this category each month. (You can add more as you complete those, if desired.)
