Understanding Gmail Archive Feature
Gmail operates with a labeling system so it is possible to have one message with multiple labels.
When you see something in your inbox that also has another label, you'll want to archive that message, which simply means that you're removing it from the inbox.
Archiving is done by clicking the button that looks like a box with a down arrow. This will remove the inbox label. You’ll still be able to find it in “all mail” &/or the label that you’ve already assigned to it, but it will no longer show in the inbox.
We hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have further questions.
Have a great day!
